I coach all kinds of people at all levels and I know that we can all learn to ride successfully.

Helping you achieve Riding Success.

Part of my technique is to use practical demonstration. I am happy to get on your horse if required to demonstrate what is achievable and help overcome problems.

I offer a schooling service to ensure the horse is equipped with the necessary skills and education for the rider to then move forwards to achieving their goal.

Alongside my freelance coaching and riding, I work in several BHS approved training centres where I train and assess students to achieve work based diplomas in horse care. I also train pupils for BHS exams and run courses with small friendly groups to achieve BHS Essential Horse Knowledge certificates.

Whether you would like an individual or group lesson, contact me and we can work on achieving your ambition!

Instructors like Louise are specialised and rare. Her capacity to inspire is needed by those of us who have low self esteem and find their love of horse riding challenging. Louise is highly recommended by The Paddocks and can instruct in WBD (formerly NVQ), Equestrian Tourism, Riding and Road safety, UKCC, BHS Stages Progression, eventing, dressage, showjumping and pony club activities, for young, old, nervous and challenged riders.

Jean Sharratt
Centre Manager, The Paddocks

Thoroughly enjoy my lessons with Louise, she is very understanding of the goals that i wish to achieve and has a great way of planning our sessions in order to create smaller achievements along the way, which hugely benefits my horses way of going as well as my riding. Couldn't ask for any more support and encouragement from a coach as a team we have already achieved so much more than i thought since starting our lessons.

Emily Sellers and Bert

Louise has been my instructor for nearly two years. In that time she has helped me improve my Welsh section D mare, from a very unbalanced, nervous inexperienced youngster to a balanced, ride-able and capable horse that is a pleasure to own. She has also improved my position no end.

Cathy Wildish and Gwen

We have a 5 year old gypsy cob Rupert, who after a mishap with a training carriage had lost his confidence and was nervous of anything that may be suggestive of a carriage shaft, even a subtle gentle leg aid. We therefore needed to train him as a ridden pony. Lou's kind sensitive approach has been invaluable.

Sue and John and Rupert

I have been having lessons with Louise for around a year now and there has been a significant change in the way I ride and how my horse goes. Louise is always offering support on and off the horse.

Madeleine White and Lucie

Louise has helped me to regain my confidence and enhanced my love for horse riding again. People like Louise are few and far between, she is not only patient, she is very kind towards rider and horse. I have no hesitation in recommending her.

Jess Griffiths and Moe

First gave my daughter lessons when she was five and since then has covered most things from confidence building jumping lessons to breaking our new horse. I would recommend Louise to anyone as she has a lovely confident manner, gives very clear advice and has really helped us with our confidence.

Gillian and Lauren

Louise is always offering support on and off the horse. I have been having lessons on a green horse who Louise has helped me to bring on and realise his full potential. I have also been having lessons on my older horse who is very set in his ways but Louise allows him to be himself while still schooling him and I.

Faith Horsely

I had lost all my confidence and came very close to selling my horse. I wasn't riding and was scared of him both on the ground and riding. Louise has been extremely patient with Harley and I She has schooled him for me on days I haven't felt brave enough without ever making me feel a failure. The advice she has given me has been invaluable, from suitable tack to exercises I can do when riding alone to rebuild our confidence.

Sharon Horsely

Over the last 3 months of lessons with Lou, she has given me confidence with my mare, who can be very stressful at times. In such a short period of time she now looks incredible and has so much more muscle and flexibility, I could not have brought her on and improved her condition without the help and support of Louise.

Jayne Roughan and Penny

I met Lou at a riding school and from there she helped us with finding the right horse to buy, training him towards being a good family all rounder leisure horse as well as training us to school him properly and improve our riding. She also takes the time to understand any needs and injuries as well as the temperament of the horse. She has also been a brilliant mentor in brushing up our skills and knowledge to take care of our young horse and I've even passed a level 2 BHS horse owners certificate run by Lou.

Suhraiya Jivraj

Lou is a lovely instructor. She's given me loads of confidence and is training my horse as well as myself

Anisa and Hercules

Lou explains things nicely and her lessons can be a bit hard work but also really fun. I've now done trotting poles and even a little jump course at a show.

Sufia

From the on-set of meeting Louise she made me feel at ease, I have found Louise to be very professional with her teaching method but also very approachable & friendly. Louise always varies my lessons and is more than happy to ride and demonstrate. Since my lessons me & my horse have drastically improved, friends have commented on his way of going which I am delighted with.

Kellie Brook and Pie

As a nervous rider it is great that Louise is happy to get on and show me how to do things that the horse can do it and what the horse's reaction may be. She has a good judgement of how much of a push I need and can easily change her approach if need be. She is also happy to offer advice in all areas of horse care not just riding.

Amanda Coupland and Indiana

Louise has helped me with my young Appaloosa mare this year with some great lessons. She has taught me which behaviour to ignore (the mare rushing forward periodically) and which to encourage (letting my mare settle into a relaxed state of mind at the start of the lesson). Louise has also taught me a lot about how my body affects the horse and is very good at pin-pointing the body part that I need to think about at each stage.
